    What Ranveer Allahbadia told cops over India’s Got Latent row

    Ranveer Allahbadia, a podcaster and YouTuber, acknowledged in a recent statement to the Maharashtra Cyber Police that he had made erroneous remarks on the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.” He explained that he only took part in the show to support his friend and host Samay Raina without receiving any money for it. Allahbadia acknowledged that his remarks were inappropriate and expressed regret for his actions.

    Allahbadia issued a public apology in response to the backlash, stating, “My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful.” Sincerely, I am sorry. I have a moral obligation to perform better. He also expressed concern for the safety of himself and his family and mentioned receiving death threats.

    Samay Raina, the host, deleted all episodes of “India’s Got Latent” from his YouTube channel following the incident, stressing that he only intended to entertain viewers. During the investigation, he promised to fully cooperate with the authorities.

    While the Supreme Court of India granted Allahbadia protection from arrest, it criticized his actions, calling them “condemnable” and demonstrating a “lack of responsibility.” He has been ordered to hand over his passport and banned from leaving the country by the court.
