Mouni Roy Breaks Silence on Plastic Surgery Rumours and Brutal Trolling

adminBy adminApril 14, 20253 Mins Read

In an industry where appearances often overshadow talent, actress Mouni Roy has long been at the receiving end of speculation about her looks. After years of silence, the Naagin star has finally opened up about persistent plastic surgery rumours and the harsh trolling she’s faced on social media.

In a candid interview, Mouni Roy addressed the speculation that has surrounded her transformation over the years. “Yes, I’ve seen the comments, the comparisons, and the cruel remarks,” she said. “But what people often forget is that change is natural — people evolve, and so do their appearances. It doesn’t always mean something artificial is behind it.”

Mouni, who started her career with the popular TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, shot to fame as a household name before making her Bollywood debut in Gold alongside Akshay Kumar. As her popularity soared, so did the scrutiny. “I’ve been accused of everything — from getting multiple surgeries to completely changing my face. It’s bizarre. No one talks about hard work, discipline, or the years I’ve spent trying to better myself as an actor and performer.”

The actress admitted that the trolling has been hurtful at times, especially when it turns personal. “People can be brutal. They don’t realise there’s a real person behind the screen reading all those comments. It used to affect me, but over time, I’ve learned to filter the noise. My job is to act, to create art — not to justify every change in my appearance.”

Mouni also emphasized the pressure women in the entertainment industry face. “There’s this unrealistic expectation for women to look a certain way all the time. If we gain weight, we’re shamed. If we lose weight, we’re questioned. If we age, we’re criticised. And if we do anything to feel confident in our skin, we’re judged. It’s a no-win situation.”

Despite the negativity, Mouni remains focused on her craft. With recent appearances in films like Brahmāstra and several OTT projects in the pipeline, she’s more determined than ever to let her work speak for itself. “I’m proud of where I come from and how far I’ve come. I’ve built my career step by step, without any godfathers in the industry. That’s what matters to me.”

Mouni’s response to the rumours and trolling is a reminder that behind the glamorous façade is a strong, resilient woman determined to rise above the noise. Her message is clear: Let talent, not tabloid talk, take centre stage.
