Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has postponed the much-anticipated trailer launch of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par due to rising geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan. The film, originally scheduled to unveil its trailer this week, will now be released at a later, undisclosed date.
In a statement issued by Aamir Khan Productions, the actor-producer expressed concern over the current situation and emphasized the need for sensitivity during such a critical time. “Given the gravity of the current situation between the two nations, we believe it is appropriate to postpone the promotional activities of Sitaare Zameen Par. We stand in solidarity with our fellow citizens and hope for peace and resolution soon,” the statement read.
Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated over the past few days following a series of cross-border incidents. With emotions running high across both countries, several public figures and institutions have called for restraint and have delayed entertainment events as a mark of respect and solidarity.
Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir’s first release since Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), is a spiritual successor to his 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. While the earlier film focused on dyslexia and a child’s emotional journey, Sitaare Zameen Par is said to take a more uplifting and humorous route, showcasing children with learning challenges coming together in a story of triumph and teamwork.

The film has generated significant buzz, not only for its subject matter but also because of Aamir’s return to the big screen after a brief hiatus. Industry insiders had been expecting a grand promotional campaign in May ahead of the film’s scheduled release in July 2025.
Sources close to the production reveal that the decision to delay the trailer was made out of respect for the sentiments of audiences during a sensitive period. “Aamir is known for being socially conscious and aware of the larger environment in which cinema operates. This decision reflects his values,” said a source from the team.
Fans expressed mixed emotions on social media—while many were disappointed about the delay, the majority supported the decision and praised Khan for his thoughtful gesture.
As of now, the new date for the trailer launch remains undecided. Aamir Khan Productions has assured fans that the trailer will be released “soon after the situation improves.”
